Unearth a Story: Summer Reading Challenge 2026

  • June 13 – August 5

Unearth a story this summer at Bernards Township Library. Children from birth to entering grade 6 are welcome to join our dinosaur themed summer reading challenge and earn rewards for reading.

Ways to register:

  • Register in person at the Children’s Desk. Participates will receive a reading log and registration reward.
  • Or fill out the online registration form and print the reading log at home.
  • If you prefer to track you reading online, use Beanstack.

How to collect rewards:

  • For every fifteen minutes of reading completed, color in a dinosaur print on the reading log. Once you have colored ten dinosaur prints, come to Bernards Township Library to claim a reward. Participants can earn up to three rewards. Rewards can be claimed through September 5.

Summer Kids Events

  • Saturday, June 20 – 10:30am & 11:30am – Dinosaurs Arise (ages 4 and up. Registration Required) Meet Terry the towering T-Rex, Ruby the playful Baby Raptor, and Kota the gentle Triceratops in a hands-on adventure filled with lifelike animatronics and puppetry.
